Ohanah is open source software and you are free to use it. What you are actually purchasing is a subscription. Each subscription has it's duration and specifics. See our pricing page for details of each plan. 

Once your subscription expired, Ohanah will continue to work indefinitely, but you will not be able to access our Members Center anymore. That means that you will not get updates, nor support. 

We highly recommend that you keep your subscription active and regularly update Ohanah. 

If Ohanah is open source, why I need to pay for it?

The code of Ohanah is open source, and you are not paying for it. You are paying for our time to answer your questions  and to continue to develop and improve Ohanah. That means fixing bugs, adding new features, maintaining compatibility with new versions of Joomla etc.
